NATURAL PLAYGROUNDS

"WATER AND STONES" GEOLOGICAL PLAYGROUND

What could be more fascinating for children than water, sand and stones? There is plenty of it at the Water and Stones Geological Playground.

The playground is located at Mühlbach brook in Huben in a crater-like basin. Protected by a natural dam, the world down in the basin is a fascinating world for children. Small water basins made of stone, small babbling brooks, wooden huts, a wigwam and a deciduous forest are perfect for children. Everything has been designed in a natural way. Here children can build dams, jump around in the mud or play catch to their hearts’ content.

A swing, slide and lift are also offered. Time is measured by a giant hourglass. And time flies. The use of the playground is free of charge. More fun and games can be enjoyed at the nearby fun park (at a charge). There you can also relax in the restaurant or at the spacious sun terrace.

WINKLBERG SEE WATER PARK

Winklberg lake is a small natural gem amidst an unspoilt mountain-forest area.

A half-hour hike starting in the hamlet of Winklen brings you to the small moor lake. An interesting geological trail leads from Ötztal Ache river through the fascinating rockslide area. Between old rocks and boulders you can learn interesting facts on this area’s unique geological history. Here and there reproduced animals greet from trees or boulders.

Having arrived at Winklbergsee lake you can enjoy watching the lovingly-made waterwheels at the feeder brook. A high seat is located on a boulder; there is also a forest slide for children. It is an idyllic place for the whole family.

Tip: bring your own food and drinks – there are no inns surrounding the lake.
